What this covers

If your trip is delayed for more than six hours due to a covered reason, the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card can help cover reasonable extra expenses, up to $500. Coverage is provided that reimburses an Eligible Traveler for reasonable additional expenses incurred for a Covered Trip that is delayed more than six (6) hours, if the Covered Trip delay is caused by a Covered Loss.

Eligibility & conditions

The Covered Trip must be delayed more than six (6) hours.
You must charge the full amount of a Covered Trip to your Eligible Card, or the full amount in combination with your Eligible Card and accumulated points on your Eligible Card, certificates, vouchers, or coupons, or discounts awarded from a frequent flyer program or similar reward program.
Covered Trip means a period of round-trip travel to one or more destinations other than an Eligible Traveler's city of residence that returns by Common Carrier to the city of departure and does not exceed three hundred sixty-five (365) days.
Delay must be caused by a Covered Loss: (1) inclement weather; (2) terrorist action or hijacking; (3) a Common Carrier's equipment failure, as documented by the Common Carrier; or (4) lost or stolen passports or travel documents.
Coverage is limited to 2 claims per Eligible Card per 12 consecutive month period.
Coverage is secondary to and in excess of any other applicable insurance or benefit available to the Eligible Traveler, including benefits provided by the Common Carrier.
You must notify the Administrator of your claim within sixty (60) days of the Covered Loss or the claim may not be honored.
